Every year, The Portland Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence give out grants to charitable organizations in Oregon and SW Washington. The money you helped us raise throughout the year goes right back to help fund smaller organizations and programs that work to improve and strengthen the LGBTQ+ Community! As of Pride Weekend, Our 2018 granting cycle has begun! Below you can find information on the grant application materials. Grants will be given out in September at a special ceremony to be announced later. If you’d like to help us raise even more money to support local LGBTQ+ community organizations, please DONATE TODAY by clicking on the link at the bottom of the page! Every dollar you give to the Sisters is a dollar for your community. Help make it stronger!
Eligibility Requirements for Funding
- An organization must have a 501(c)3 non-profit tax status to be considered. Grants to individuals will not be considered.
- Projects must align with our mission statement: We are an order of Twenty-first Century nuns dedicated to the promulgation of universal joy and the expiation of stigmatic guilt. We work to raise money for HIV/AIDS charities; fight for queer rights and visibility; do safer sex outreach: and strive diligently to keep our sense of humor, never taking ourselves so seriously that we forget to have fun. We gladly welcome all races, creeds, genders, and sexual orientations.
- Projects must be operated within Oregon or SW Washington.
What We Fund
Historically we have funded smaller grass roots organizations whose focus is to improve and strengthen the LGBTQ+ communities. All application will be considered as long as no more than 10% of funding is applied to administration costs, and the program will fit under one or more of the following headings: Gay, Lesbian, Bi, Trans, HIV/AIDS, Sexual Health, or Queer Empowerment.
Maximum Grant: $1,000.00
The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, The Order of Benevolent Bliss, have a commitment to the entire LGBTQ+ community. There will be no guarantee of continued funding for agencies or projects who receive money in this Grant Cycle. Applications received by July 31, 2018 will be considered for 2018 distribution only; all future disbursements will require new applications.
