The Portland Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence is turning 17 and we are celebrating with an ABBA and 70s disco-themed bingo, and our annual grants giveaway. This year, we are awarding $5,000 to local queer charities and organizations in need of this aid. Sisters Bingo is back, back, back! Our first in over two years, we’re relaunching this signature Sisters’ event in style—70s style! Pride is a beautiful month for the LGBTQ+ community as we come together to celebrate the joys and the diversity within our community. Of course, Pride is not a one size fits all month. Books have helped people for a millennium but now books need our aid. Vital and important books are under attack and being banned because they contain knowledge that can free our minds of prejudices and bigotry. Join us as we spend a day highlighting banned books, especially queer books, on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Belmont Books PDX. The book fair will last all day from 12-6 p.m. and the Sisters will be there from 2-5 p.m with Novice Sister Shiso Panda emceeing the event at that time to fulfill their novice project and spread joy and awareness. It’s an underwear party! A ritual spring fete featuring jello shots, PDX PAH modeling underwear, a raffle where you can win adult themed Easter baskets and other prizes, music by Ursabomb and just the best dang time you’ve seen in a couple years.
