What is your Full Sister name?
Sister Mona Little-Moore

Date you joined the Order?
I am one of the founding members, along with 5 others. In May 2005, a group of Sisters from Seattle came down to host "Bear Bada Bingo" for the Oregon Bears. Though not all of us knew each other, we all were at bingo, and we all felt that there was a need for the Sisters in Portland. Two different groups started contacting the Sisters in Seattle and San Francisco to see about starting an Order in Portland. Sister Ivanna Mandalei came down to Portland to introduce us to each other and talk about what it meant to be a Sister, the history of the Sisters, and to ask us why we wanted to BE Sisters.

We invited the Seattle Sisters to come down for Portland's Gay Pride celebration and arranged for them to march with the Oregon Bears in the parade. The day before they arrived, the 6 of us met, agreed that this was something we all felt a calling to do. We made the commitment to our community, and to each other to make the Portland Sisters a force of change in our city.

What is your lay occupation?
I'm a PC Board Designer

Home Town?
Santa Cruz, California

When did you discouver your calling?
I've always helped out from the fringe with organzations. I never really found something that "felt right" until I saw the Sisters. Seeing them, learning about the work they do, it struck a chord with me. I love the work we do, and I have a BLAST doing it.

Sponsor in the Order?
Many of the other houses were started by a fully professed Sister from an established Order, moving to another city and starting a house there. Portland was unique, as we didn't have a fully professed Sister start our Order. We were kind of an immaculate conception. Though our founding members don't have a sponsor, we do have a mentor. Sister Ivanna mentored us from Seattle. She's our "Auntie". We learned a lot from her, and from our association with the Seattle Sisters

Religious beliefs (if any)?
I grew up attending a Protestant church every Sunday. Although I believe organized religion is one of the biggest and longest running scams, designed to control peoples lives, so that a few can benefit, I learned some very good lessons at church. The main one...The Golden Rule!

If we all would treat each other with the love and respect that we would like to be treated with, this world would be a much better place.

Goals and Aspirations?
The end of AIDS

This year I will be participating in the AIDS/LifeCycle as a Roadie. I see this as an extension of my calling and I'm really excited about doing this.
